various reasons are doing rounds regarding the blockade, my two informers Matter Manickam and Lanjam Logamuthu have been constantly supplying me with conflicting reasons
1) NASSCOMM has commissioned a report on the loss of productivity due to blogging and chatting from the workplace and has found the loss to be pegged at close to 50%. Therefore in order to avoid a bad name for IT companies, NASSCOMM has pushed a suitcase and has gotten Maran to do the dirty work for them. 
, now to lift the ban, all those who utilise office facilities to the max and blog from there, please stop and do some work for a change.
2) The GOI has total control over the press in India, no newspaper goes against the government, now there is the new demon in the name of bloggers, especially the ones who have been attacking the secular fabric of the nation, by writing about reverse communalism, therefore to have a clampdown on the, blogs have been blocked.
3) The government wants to make money from blogs, and other such web 2.0 technologies, and the only way is to ban them, then demand money from the service providers to lift the ban.
4) Maran and WordPress are colluding to promote wordpress in india. Almost every Indian blogger who is miffed with the ban is considering moving to wordpress. Recently a wordpress convention in San Fransisco had only 200 registered participants, which is an abysmal number compared to what a blogger convention will attract. India is a growing market for blogs, where the potential blogging holds in terms of numbers alone is huge. So wordpress would want a share of this pie, with blogger being the biggest service it would naturally conrer a large number of users. The best way to beat blogger would be to have a ban on blogger, therefore current blogger users as well as prospective users of wordpress would use wordpress and not blogger. Mr Maran I think might have colluded with WordPress and blocked blogger, even might have received some pay off to block blogger from WordPress. I hope Google will offer an even greater payoff to Maran to have the ban lifted.
5) The NSA and Google are in talks over google maps showing images of high security installations in India, with Google not yielding, therefore NSA wants to block blogs to make google climb down.
In all likelihood the real reason is the Mumbai blasts. In that case its true that, Indian bloggers are the greatest and largest collective of idiots I’ve seen so far. First after Mumbai blasts, they scream out hoarse that the government isn’t acting, it is sleeping, doesn’t give a fuck about citizens security. And are the one who posted shit like solidarity for the dead, and crap like my heart goes out to the dead and injured,
A few days later, the government of India, acts in a fashion which it normally doesn’t, which is blocking the domain blogspot, and the rumours are that this has something to do with the terrorist attack, so it means the government is acting, the idiotic Indian bloggers now cry out hoarse again.
The idiots protesting the ban don’t know the entire picture, they don’t know the leads the government has, it’s a clear case of asymmetric information, they have some scraps of information which clearly not sufficient information understand the logic behind the governments actions. So why do these idiotic bloggers jump the gun?
These idiotic bloggers, have no real idea about what the government is doing, the best recourse to action would be to give the government some time, let it act rather than crying out hoarse. Its taken 3-4 days to implement the blockade, now give the security agencies a few more days to act; they raise a call to arms, not now.
Indian bloggers have shown in this instance that they are the greatest collective of idiots on this planet, and also a bunch of hypocrites!!
